New Project Upcoming

EspressoSniper began as a three headed project aimed at providing espresso at select events via mobile cart, training shops/enthusiasts, and organizing/competing in local and national barista events. Now as many of you may know, events come around only so often, and competitions are even more scarce. So what to do with all of my spare time????? drumroll.........

Espresso/Cappuccino Reviews of all local coffee shops.

Columbus already has a site Columbus Coffee Review, and they are doing a great job of reviewing coffee shops in town. But I crave scientific details that can be used by owners to help fix the deficiencies in their drinks. So my kit is packed (demitasse, digital thermometer, Scace Device, camera, backdrop, color swatches, stopwatch, shot glasses, etc) and I am ready to engage the masses.

My sortie will begin at the "Premier" coffee shops in town, then venture towards lesser known establishments. If you are looking for reviews on atmosphere, wifi capabilities, brewed coffee, roasting, music, or cold drinks.......look elsewhere.

It's all about the espresso and the barista's ability to make it shine.

I will be attending the CBus Barista Jam on Saturday, September 5th, to defend my latte art title. This event features a tournament style bracket which should help keep the contest moving. The final four pours will be the headline event.

Snowville Creamery has been gracious enough to supply me with milk for my "Proper Cappuccino" class that am teaching. Ever wanted to learn how to make a cappuccino? Now's your chance. I will be using the WBC/BGA definitions of what constitutes a cappuccino, so leave the 20 oz cups and spoons at home. Spaces are limited for the class, so e-mail me your name, or take your chances day of....

See you all at the KickStart on the fizifth!
